Enable Two-Factor Authentication - Secure Your Account
Two-factor authentication adds a critical second layer of security to your SecurePutCalls account, protecting your trading data and connected broker information even if your password is ever compromised. This tutorial walks through the process of enabling two-factor authentication using an authenticator app — the recommended and most secure method — and explains the recovery options available in case you ever lose access to your authenticator device.
To enable two-factor authentication, navigate to Account Settings from the top-right user menu and select Security. Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication and choose your preferred method. The authenticator app option is recommended for maximum security — it works with any standard TOTP app including Google Authenticator, Authy, and 1Password. A QR code is displayed that you scan with your chosen authenticator app, which then generates a new six-digit code every thirty seconds. Enter the current code to confirm setup and two-factor authentication is immediately active on your account.
Once enabled, every login requires both your password and the current six-digit code from your authenticator app. During setup, a set of backup recovery codes is provided — download and store these in a secure location such as a password manager or printed and locked away. These single-use codes allow account access if you lose your authenticator device. For broker-connected accounts, enabling two-factor authentication on SecurePutCalls does not affect your broker connections — broker OAuth tokens remain valid and positions continue syncing normally after you complete two-factor authentication setup.
