FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ================================================================================ GENERAL QUESTIONS ----------------- Q: What markets does this app support? A: Currently, we support the US market only. Q: Is this financial advice? A: No. This app is for educational and informational purposes only. All trading involves risk of loss. Consult a licensed financial advisor before making investment decisions. Q: How often is data updated? A: Market data is real-time from Tradier API. Risk Intelligence features (Greeks, Sentiment, Calendar Events) fetch fresh data on-demand when you expand each section. Q: Do I need an account to use the app? A: You need to provide an email to access the app. Email is required for Position Tracker, signal tracking, and saved strategies. TECHNICAL QUESTIONS ------------------- Q: Why don't I see a stock in the dropdown? A: We have 4,835 US common stocks pre-loaded. If your stock isn't listed, use the "Use [TICKER]" custom symbol option that appears when you type. Q: What if a stock is delisted? A: Some stocks in our database (~5-10%) may be delisted. This is a trade-off for using free data. The app will show an error if options aren't available. Q: How accurate are the signals? A: View your personal accuracy rate on the Performance page. Past performance doesn't guarantee future results. Signals are based on volume analysis, not predictions. Q: Why is my accuracy rate showing 0%? A: This means you have pending signals that haven't been verified yet. Click the "Verify Expired Signals" button on the Performance page to verify any expired pending signals and update your accuracy rate. Q: Can I analyze multiple stocks at once? A: Use the Freeze/Pin feature to compare two stocks side-by-side on the Home page. Analyze first stock, freeze data, then analyze second stock. Q: How is the Black Swan Score calculated? A: It's a weighted score (0-100) based on five components: IV Level (30%), Delta Exposure (25%), DTE (20%), Open Interest (15%), and Earnings Proximity (10%). Higher scores indicate higher tail risk. Q: What if Risk Intelligence sections show "Not available"? A: This means the Tradier Beta API doesn't have data for that stock or feature. Try major stocks like AAPL, MSFT, TSLA which have comprehensive data coverage. STRATEGY QUESTIONS ------------------ Q: What's better - puts or calls? A: Depends on your outlook and whether you own the stock: - Bullish on stock + want to own it = Sell puts - Own stock + want income = Sell calls - Check the Home page - it shows which has better ROI - Use Sentiment to confirm market direction Q: What's a good ROI target? A: Conservative: 1-2% per month (12-24% annual) Moderate: 2-4% per month (24-48% annual) Aggressive: 4%+ per month (48%+ annual, higher risk) Always consider Black Swan Score with ROI targets. Q: How do I avoid assignment? A: Sell options further out of the money (lower delta). A 0.20 delta means ~20% chance of assignment. Monitor Calendar Events for dividend ex-dates (calls) and earnings. You can also buy back the option before expiration. Q: When should I roll a position? A: Roll when: DTE < 21 days, position still favorable, Black Swan Score < 50, no earnings nearby, and you can collect additional premium. Use Position Tracker's "Roll" feature to record and track rolls. Q: How do I use the Position Tracker effectively? A: Add positions immediately after entry, check Risk Intelligence sections regularly, record all rolls and exits, monitor Total P&L, and use the data to improve future position selection. ACCOUNT & DATA QUESTIONS ------------------------- Q: Is my data private? A: Yes. Your email, positions, and signals are stored securely in our PostgreSQL database. We don't share your data with third parties. Review our privacy policy for details. Q: Can I delete my data? A: Contact support to request data deletion. We'll remove your email, positions, signals, and feedback from our database. Q: Can I export my position history? A: Currently, positions are viewable in the Positions page with roll history and P&L tracking. Export feature is planned for future release. Q: How many positions can I track? A: There's no limit. Track as many positions as you need. Each position includes unlimited roll history and full Risk Intelligence features. TROUBLESHOOTING --------------- Q: Analysis isn't loading, what should I do? A: 1. Check your internet connection 2. Click the refresh button (โ†ป) 3. Try a different stock symbol 4. Check if market is open (US markets: 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM ET) Q: I don't see any options for my stock, why? A: Some stocks don't have options available. Try these: - Verify ticker symbol is correct - Check if stock is optionable (needs minimum price/volume) - Try a major stock like AAPL, TSLA, MSFT Q: Risk Intelligence sections are blank, why? A: This can happen if: - Tradier Beta API doesn't have data for that stock - API is temporarily unavailable - Stock doesn't have options traded Try major stocks which have comprehensive data coverage. Q: Filters don't seem to work, what's wrong? A: Make sure to click the "Apply" button after adjusting filters. The auto-submit feature works for stock selection, but filters require manual apply. Q: Position Tracker says "Position not found", help! A: Ensure the email in your browser matches the email used when creating the position. Email is case-sensitive. Try logging out and back in. Q: My Black Swan Score seems wrong, is it accurate? A: The score is calculated in real-time based on current market data. Scores can change quickly with market movements. If you think there's an error, verify the underlying Greeks and IV are displaying correctly in Risk Metrics.
